It is a truth universally acknowledged that chocolate is good for the soul.
It is for this reason that I have resolved to journey across the expanse of New York City to find the best chocolate in the land — the best chocolate affordable on a college budget that is.
I am a self-identifying chocolate lover. I did a project on Switzerland in 6th grade just so I could hand out Toblerone chocolate. Those Girardelli displays in Duane Reade are simultaneously my best friend and worst enemy. Dark chocolate with salted caramel filling? To die for. White chocolate with milk chocolate ganache? Simply heavenly. You see, chocolate is more than just a sweet treat- it can lift a mood, symbolize love, or give an energy boost. Chocolate is an art, and I am determined to discover the devoted artists of the craft.
Each week I will visit one or two chocolate shops in the city and give you my findings on the shop’s atmosphere, history, employees, prices and deals, and most importantly, the chocolate.
If you have any questions, recommendations or just want to gush about chocolate, leave a comment or get in touch via the contact page.
Here’s to the adventure ahead and may it be filled with delectable delights and sweet stories!
